As Squimpish hair is a 100% custom product, there is a wide range between the products we offer. Whether you are looking for super long materials for pike/musky/bass flies or just that perfect 4" taper for a sardina pattern we have some great options that will be a welcome addition to your current tying materials arsenal. Properly utilized this will greatly improve your current patterns as Squimpish hair swims very well.
With regards to volume, length and density , patches vary greatly from color to color. The quantity of fiber on a patch in a unit is standard but doesn't follow the typical square inch X square inch standardization
Many colors are actually composed of numerous colors combined to make a single color. For example “Rainbow Pecan” is a blend of golden brown, purple, yellow & tan.
All styles are blend-able, stack-able ,and trim-able. While the material is tapered in length on the patch, the actual material has the same diameter from base to tip so longer pieces can be cut in ½ and used like any synthetic material.
This taper is really what makes flies look good and swim well and until now I had only found that in natural materials.
Squimpish Hair moves in water in lengths as short as an inch. When used sparsely it retains no water and when used in a bulkier fashion it sheds water.
All standard tying techniques can be used with Squimpish hair especially used in hollow ties and dubbing loops. Blends very well with all your favorite materials.
Perfect for pike and all other predator flies.
